The death of the Otunba of Igbogbo Kingdom, Otunba Olanrewaju Obayomi, has been announced.
Otunba Obayomi, a traditional and palace Chief in the Adeboruwa palace, we gathered, joined his ancestors today, after a brief illness.
Mourning the late traditional chief who was popular among the youths in Igbogbo, the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), described his death as a very sad development.
There have also been outpouring of tributes on social media platforms, especially WhatsApp related to Igbogbo.
“We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our father and Uncle, Otunba Olanrewaju Obayomi”, the IYC statement said.
“Indeed, our community has lost a remarkable and eminent personality whose contributions will be remembered even by generations to come.
“Our condolence, thoughts and prayers are extended to the Adeboruwa-in-Council, his immediate family, friends and associates who have been hit by his sudden departure.
“We pray that his soul finds rest and may we all find strength and solace in the memories of the exemplary life he lived.
“May Otunba’s elegant soul rest in perfect peace”, the statement added.
