The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) AbdulHakeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, has explained that the need for the pupils of the Egbin Kingdom Nursery and Primary School, Egbin, to have smooth transition to Secondary School, informed his decision to establish Egbin Junior Grammar School.
Oba Oyebo also stated that the need to ensure that pupils that graduated from the Kingdom’s primary school, sustain the ideal that has been inculcated in them, and the principles that they have imbibed from the primary school, also necessitated the establishment of the Junior Secondary School.
The revered royal father disclosed this today in Egbin, while speaking with THE IMPACT.
“Education is just one of the things that I am focusing on in my Kingdom, because we cannot have professionals without good education. Education is one of my priorities”, Obateru said.
“As a follow up to the primary school that we have established some years back, we have also established a secondary school, about two weeks ago.
“As it is today, we have three arms, and we are having close to 60 students in each of the arms. We have JSS 1A, 1B and 1C.
“The reason that we are doing this is that we don’t want our pupils graduating from our primary school, and attend other secondary schools, where they can be corrupt or influenced in negative ways”, Oba Oyebo explained.
The royal father, who said that he has been closely monitoring the schools himself, also let out his plans to have a higher institution in his Kingdom.
“I give them monitoring on a daily basis. I am always at the school, and as long as the school opens, I will always go there to see what they are doing and its progress”, Obateru said.
“I started with primary education and now into secondary education. If possible, and by the grace of God Almighty, and with the support of the present government and the one that will be in future, we will also have an higher institution.
“Our intention is to get the best for our youths and community, because if we are not one of the best, we won’t be where we are today. In terms of education, moral and every other quality, we are trying to instill the best in the pupils”, the royal father said.
