Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, has been lauded for the facilitation of a Digital Economy Centre at the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Southwest, Nigeria.
The ICT centre, which is fully equipped, will serve all the primary schools in the council, for their computer education and prepared them for the Computer Based Test (CBT).
Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), a former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, in a statement on Friday, said that the initiative of Rep. Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, has provided pupils in Igbogbo, the opportunity to compete favourably with their counterparts anywhere.
“We appreciate the foresight of our super-representative, Hon. Babajimi Benson, for the facilitation of Digital Learning Centre housing 15 computer sets, inverter, photocopier, router, binding machine, generators and fans, to Igbogbo community”, Aroyewun said.
“This important gesture by Hon. Babajimi Benson, shows that he is alive to the needs of his constituents, he is one that carefully accesses the needs of the many communities under him and provides intervention that brings about the desired relief and succor to the communities.
“This particular intervention has matched Igbogbo community up with Digital reality, and has shrugged off one of the most prominent challenges of learning within a rural community, and has given not only the pupils but their teachers, the rare opportunity of competing favorably with their counterparts globally”, he said.
Aroyewun charged the young pupils in the community to make good use of the advantage and use the centre in developing themselves.
“We urge young minds to see this as an opportunity to upgrade themselves, use this newly introduced initiative effectively. The location of the digital center doesn’t make it exclusive as such students from other schools are also enjoined to make it a point of duty to explore all beneficial areas of this learning facility”, he charged.
“Once again, I extend appreciation to Hon Babajimi Benson, on this project. Thank you for counting lgbogbo worthy of this noble attraction, this comes barely after the intervention on Akin Ogunlewe Road, Igbogbo. We are indeed very grateful”.
