The Chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has redeemed pledges made to three students who distinguished themselves during the IT Launchpad Cohort 1 training, organised by Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), in partnership with ZKT West Africa.
Abiru had, at the graduation ceremony held on Saturday 26, August, 2023, for 70 secondary school students in Ikorodu division, who successfully completed training in IT Launchpad, pledged to provide internet devices with subscriptions for one year, six months and three months respectively, for the top three students.
He also pledged to admit them into his SAIL Innovation Lab for further training on ICT.
In a statement released today by the Special Adviser to the Senator on Media & Publicity, Mr Enitan Olukotun, it was revealed that the trio of Master Lawal AbduMojeed, who emerged as the overall best student, with Master Idowu Tidwab Ayomide,, who came second and Miss Babatunde Olabusola Isioma, who emerged third, were presented with devices.
“The Senator, who is the Co-founder of the SAIL Innovation Lab, the first of its kind Innovation hub in Lagos East Senatorial District, also gave opportunity to the top three outstanding students to be onboarded into the STEM training programme at the SAIL Innovation Lab. The students were admitted to the STEM class at the SAIL Innovation Lab last Saturday”, the statement also added.
