The efforts of the lawmaker representing the Ikorodu Constituency II, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), in making the Assembly intervened in the 7 years darkness saga facing Gbodu community in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has generated reactions from residents.
Hon. Aro had, on Monday, moved a motion on, ‘Matter of Urgent Public Importance’, to bring the Assembly’s attention to what his Constituency has been experiencing in the last seven years.
The lawmaker, while presenting the matter during the plenary session, alleged that residents of the Gbodu community, are being denied electricity due to their disagreement with the Egbin Power Plc.
THE IMPACT had reported earlier that when the lawmaker was contacted after the session, he said that he had earlier intervened in a bid to resolve the matter between the two parties, but all to no avail, thus, the reason for presenting the matter before the House for intervention.
Following the publication of the report, there have been deluge of comments and commendations by residents of the Ikorodu Constituency II, commending the lawmaker’s intervention.
Recall that Hon. Aro is one of the lawmakers that spoke on the floor of the Assembly of his constituents’ opposition to the list of cabinet nominees by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and called for more slots for Ikorodu Division.
He has also initiated educational support programmes for students, financial support initiatives for market men and women and health intervention programmes for his constituents among others within three months of his representation.
Olakunle Muyideen, commenting on a WhatsApp platform, said that the intervention of the Assembly is based on Hon. Aro’s effort as true representation.
“This is a true representation. The effect will be beneficial to so many people of the community, beyond stomach infrastructure. God bless you brother. Your love for humanity has never been in doubt”, he said.
Abduleaheed Lawal, also reacting, said:
“Thanks to my Honourable. AMA is simply ABC, ASTUTE BOLD and has CONFIDENCE. I pray God grant you sound health with abundant wisdom and understand to deliver to your Constituency”
Another resident, Noibi Idris, also commenting, said that the representative is a square peg in a square hole.
“You are a true representation of what we have been yearning for. More wisdom and devine protection. Square peg in a square hole…..”, he said.

Ogunyemi Sefiu Ola, former APC LGA Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku, also commenting, said:
“Please, go ahead and make a good name for yourself. Almighty Allah shall continue to lead you”.
Another resident, Tayo Adekunle, commending Hon. Aro, stated:
“Welldone my honorable, more wisdom in Jesus Mighty name”.
The Principal of the Lagos State University International School, Alhaji Odumbo Taiwo, described the intervention as proactive.
“This is a proactive and very commendable effort from Hon Moshood Aro. Well done”.
Also speaking, another resident, Samson Practical, said that Aro has been delivering quality representation.
“It’s fantastic to have this quality representative in the house. We pray that God Almighty will guide you and support you in moving Ikorodu Constituency II, forward”.
Omo Erin Jogun Ola, who reacted to the news on the Community Initiative for Igbogbo Development Union ( CIIDU), a platform related to Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA which is under the Ikorodu Constituency II, while commending the lawmakers for the step taken, and charged him to ensure that the House attention is brought to the state of roads in the council.
“Good job, but our working honourable should also put Igbogbo in mind. We will love it if an Ad-hoc Committee can come around to check our major and inner roads which have been inflicting hardship on residents in the last 7 years, thanks”, he said.
