-Rep. Benson rejoices with DG Ogunleye
The former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, was, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, conferred with the prestigious honour of Knight of John Wesley (KJW) by the Conference of Methodist Church, at a special service at the Hoarse Memorial Methodist Church, Yaba, Lagos.
Ogunleye, who is a chieftain of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), was conferred with the honour alongside many others.
At the Recognition of Service and Award of Merit Service, the Most Rev. J.Y. Ngbede delivered the sermon at the service under the coordination of MOST Rev. (Dr.) isaac Ayobami Olawuyi.
Among the 10 others from Ikorodu, that were honoured are: Evangelist Elizabeth Arinade Odulate, Chief (Mrs) Oluwatoyin Sunmoni and Lady (Dr.) Olayinka Iyabode Ajayi.
Others are Bro. Charles Adewale Ajayi, Chief Ayo Adesina Shode, Olori Olaniwun Odusoga, Dr. Emmanuel Awolesi, Chief Mrs. Olabisi Alokolaro, Oloye Henry Owolabi Onafowokan and Lady Kehinde Kamson.
The Lagos First Lady, Dr (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo – Olu, and other dignitaries were in attendance.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defense, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has felicitated Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, on his conferment as KJW.
He said that Prince Ogunleye was honoured in recognition of his exceptional service to the church.
“I rejoice with the former Deputy-Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, on his conferment of the Award of Knight of John Wesley (KJW), in recognition of his exceptional services and support to the Methodist Church, Nigeria”, Rep. Benson said.
“No doubt, your passion, profound dedication and unwavering commitment have earned you this honour, even outside of politics, as you have always provided the direction, and necessary tutelage for the advancement of humanity.
“May the good Lord continue to honour you with sound health, more wisdom, grace and guidance.
“Congratulations, Sir, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye KJW”, the lawmaker said.
