Otunba Adebayo Lawson, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikorodu West LGA, has assured party members and residents of Ikorodu division, that more political appointments will be allocated to the division.
The APC Chairman gave the assurance while speaking with THE IMPACT, at the Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Secretariat, while also urging residents to be patient with the political leaders in addressing the alleged marginalization of the Division, by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu.
He also commended President Bola Tinubu on his choice for Ministerial appointments.
There has been serious agitation against the one cabinet slot allocated to Ikorodu Division by the Governor, and the leadership of the party has demanded for at least three slots. There have also been demands by various groups in the Division.
“We all know that Ikorodu has been marginalised and we are working on it”, he said.
“More positions are coming to Ikorodu. I can assure you of that. Ikorodu is a major stakeholder in Lagos State, so, it cannot be overlooked.
“It’s a gradual process and more appointments are coming. I just want the party members and residents to be patient. We will see more political appointments coming to Ikorodu”, Otunba Lawson said.
The party chairman also commended President Tinubu, for appointing those he referred to as experienced and capable, into ministerial positions.
“With the release of the ministerial list, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is using the right pegs in the right holes. Virtually all the ministers are experienced and have the technical know – how to deliver”, Otunba Lawson said.
“I want to appeal to Nigerians, to give the President time to perform. We can’t grade performance of any government in less than three months. We should give him more time and let the ministers that are just being appointed, perform and do their jobs”, he said.
