-School records 8 top 2023 WAEC, 5 BECE students
The students of the Kith & Kin International College, Owode – Ibeshe, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, have continued with the school’s tradition of academic excellence as they passed the 2023 West African Examination Council (WAEC), in flying colours.
Some of these students, who wrote the terminal exam, while speaking with THE IMPACT, at the 2023 Valedictory/Prize Giving Day, held at the school’s Excellence Hall, Kith & Kin Educational Schools, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, attributed their excellent performances to the impacts of the school, their commitment and their parents’ support.
The 43 KKIC students that sat for the 2023 WAEC scored 155 As, 132 Bs, 90 Ds, 1 E in 25 subjects, while eight of them recorded outstanding performances in the examinations.
Adegbehingbe Deborah Ayomide, who intend to studying Nursing Science at the Babcock University, recorded 6As, 2Bs & 1 C; Ikemefuna Favour Adeoba, who is targeting the University of Lagos (UNILAG) to study Mechanical Engineering, has 5As, 4Bs to his credit, while Abimbola Nafast, who is intending to attend Pan Atlantic University to study Accounting, recorded 5As and 4Bs in her WAEC.
Also, Yusuff Mariam Omotoyosi had 6As and 3Cs; Okesola Praise Toluwani, who is studying Medicine and Surgery at the McDonald University, River State, scored 5As, 3Bs & 1C; Anyiweh Jeffery Maduabuchi, who is planning to study Accounting at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, had 5As, 3Bs and 1C; Olaifa Moshood Gbolahan, who is aiming at studying Accounting at the Babcock University, recorded 5As, 3Bs and 1C, while Folorunsho Esther Adesola, who is planning to study Civil Engineering at the University of Lagos, had 5As, 3Bs and 1C.
The college has also released details of the top five students in the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), for its junior secondary school with five students having excellent results.
Balogun Moyinoluwa (8As and 3Bs), Odusanya Ademola (6As and 5Bs), Okesola Grace (6As and 5Bs), Oguntunde Malikah (6As, 3Bs and 2cs) and Ajagunna Hallelujah (5As, 5Bs and 1C).
Meanwhile, Deborah Ayomide, who recorded distinction in her WAEC exam, said that she felt happy with her performance, while attributing it to the conducive academic environment that the school provided her and her mates
“I feel so happy for being one of the students with the best WAEC results. I worked hard to achieve the feat, and God crowned my efforts and that of my mates”, she said.
“Our teachers really helped us and engaged us to perform better in the examinations. We had tests virtually all the time, and that helped us in our subjects, and we also engaged in group study and that also helped”.
Another distinction student, Okeshola Praise Toluwani, who is studying Medicine and Surgery at the McDonald University, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, stated that his WAEC feat was a dream come true.
He thanked his parents for the support throughout his primary and secondary edueducation.
“I feel very fulfilled. It was a dream come true. I wasn’t part of the eight best students in JAMB from our school, but I scored 294. However, being part of the best students in WAEC, gives me a sense of belief that I am academically fine and l thank God for helping me”.
“I also thank my parents for their support through the six years in secondary school, because if not for them, I might not be where I am today. It’s God and my parents.
“My appreciation is also to the school for its impact on me.
“I am studying Medicine and Surgery in MacDonald University, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. I feel that studying the course will make me fulfil my potentials. In Nigeria today, the health system is not where it is meant to be, and I feel and I believe that this is a sector that politicians and others governing our country need to look at. I want to be a known figure in that sector, that’s why I am studying this course”, Toluwani said.
Ikemefuna Favour, who intend to study Mechanical Engineering in the University of Lagos, in her own brief remarks, said:
“I feel alright and fulfilled. The school’s impact on me has been very positive”.
