The overall graduating student of the Kith & Kin International College (KKIC), Owode – Ibeshe in Ikorodu, Miss Ajani Covenant Oreofe, has commended the Chief Learning Officer, KKES, Asipa Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, for his impacts on his education, and her transformation through the scholarship that she was granted since her primary school.
Oreofe received the Asipa Kaoli Olusanya Scholarship while she was in primary six, and was admitted into the KKIC, where she also had her secondary education for six years, courtesy of Kaoli Olusanya’s scholarship.
The young girl, who made her parents proud at the 2023 graduation/prize giving day ceremony of the school, was also the best student in the school in JAMB, scoring 321 points.
At the graduation ceremony, the young scholar emerged as the best student in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Civic Education and Geography. She was also the best Science Student and the overall best student of the graduating class.
“Honestly, I am very happy being the overall best student and while being happy, I know that it is not by my power and that I am privileged and that it is by God’s grace. Just like my name, ‘Oreofe’, I have been enjoying the grace of God. It is not that I am the best among all the students, but God has chosen me for favour”, she said.
“Kith & Kin has really made a mark in my life. Starting from the Chief Learning Officer, the school has really impacted my life. I came from the background of a public school at the Owode Ibelefun Nursery and Primary School, that is where I got the Asipa Kaoli Olusanya’s scholarship”, OreOfe recalled.
“I got the scholarship since my Primary School up to my SSS 3, and I am really grateful to the CLO.
“Also my teachers, Mrs Okoli, Mr Akintunde and others, they really impacted on me. They really helped me. I say a very big thank you to Kith & Kin Educational Schools”.
The best graduating student, who said she intends studying Computer Science, charged the junior pupils still in school to be committed to their education and always seek for God’s guidance.
“My plan is to study Computer Science at University of Lagos (UNILAG), and I believe that God will grant me that. I believe that God has purpose for my life’, she said.
“I will advise the junior pupils that are still in school to focus on God mostly, I always say that it is a waste even if you know it all and you don’t have God. God should be number one in their lives. They also have to read and respect teachers. I can assure them that with these, everything is going to be fine”.
Mr Ajani, father of the overall best student, was full of thanks to Asipa Kaoli whom he said changed and transformed her family’s status from nothing to a respectable status with the scholarship that his daughter has been enjoying.
He recommended Kith & Kin to members of the public.
The Tutor – General, Education District II, Mrs Anike Adekanye who was a special guest at the ceremony, speaking purposely because of the girl’s performance, recalled when she and her husband had to pay their children’s school fees five times in a session, but today graduates and professionals in various fields. She charged parents to continue investing in their children.
She called on guests, parents and entire students, to give the best graduating student a standing ovation for her feat.
“I cannot hide my feelings when I heard the emotions your expression (Oreofe’s parents remarks). Today, the girl that you have sacrificed on is now the best in English Language, Mathematics and other subjects and she happens to be a girl”, she said.
“I want to challenge us if you are still going through what I had gone through, I want to encourage you that education is an investment that is better than gold and houses. Oreofe is a treasure and she’s going higher and higher”.
Mrs Adekanye thanked the school’s CLO for caring for the future of young ones with quality education, conducive academic environment and the care being provided for them.
