The three term representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has joined voices with the residents of his constituency to state that Ikorodu deserves more than one Commissioner in the second cabinet of the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo –Olu, based on the support given to the ruling and promises made to them.
Benson described the one slot allotted to Ikorodu, out of the 39 proposed names, as a mistake which leadership of the party in Ikorodu, are doing everything to correct.
The federal lawmaker disclosed this to his constituents while speaking wth journalists during his tour of road projects that he facilitated.
“We are all sad about the Commissioner’s list, but they should be rest assured that we are fighting”, he said.
“If you compare the performances of all the local governments in the last elections and federal constituencies, we come first by far.
“We have not always been first but we are first because we promised the electorate that if they make Ikorodu number one in terms of number of votes for APC, they will get 3 or 4 Commissionership slots, unfortunately, we have only been allotted one”.
Rep. Benson assured his constituents that the leadership in Ikorodu, is working towards ensuring that the mistake is corrected and Ikorodu gets more Commissioneship slots.
“I know it’s a mistake and it would be rectified. The governor likes data, information and communication, so, we are going to communicate to him rightly, and by right and privilege, we deserve to have more than one”.
“All hands are on the deck. The leadership is trying to see to it that more slots are brought to Ikorodu, because it is thoroughly deserved”.
