-Announces plans for Ori – Okuta, Gberigbe
The representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has hinted that the completed 80 – bed Mother and Child medical facility at Imota, in lmota Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, will be commissioned this month for the use of his constituents.
The hospital was facilitated in 2021, by the lawmaker.
Rep. Benson revealed this on Saturday, during the tour of the Agbele and Erunwen roads that he facilitated. He also announced his plan to flag – off the Ori – Okuta road project and market construction in Gberigbe.
“We intend commissioning the 80 – bed hospital in Imota. It’s a project that we are very proud of. It will be commissioned before the end of the month”, he said.
The lawmaker, speaking during the inspection of Erunwen road, said that the construction has been delayed by rain, but assured residents that the project would be completed in the next two months.
“This is the first phase of the road, which asphalt has been laid. It is a 3. 25 kilometre road. The rain seriously disturbed us in completing it in time. They ought to face stone – based it further down, but you can see that it is raining. We hope to complete it in two months”, he said.
“We have almost completed the Agbele road. It is 70% completed. We will be completing that too in the next two months.
While urging the community to sponsor speed breaker that they are requesting for, Rep. Benson charged residents through their Community Development Association (CDAs), to always partner with the government in ensuring infrastructural developments in their areas.
“I have asked the CDA to collaborate with us in providing speed breakers which they requested for. Their involvement too will make them know how to maintain the road since their own money too will be in it. It shouldn’t be government alone providing everything”, he said.
“Those working on the road are doing a great job. These are elite engineers of the Nigerian Armed Force”.
While stating that the Akin Ogunlewe road in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, is ongoing, Rep. Benson announced his intention to commence the construction of Ori – Okuta road.
“Once we finish this, we are looking at going to Ori Okuta in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), which is about 3 kilometers road”, he revealed.
“We are also building a huge market in Isiwu, and we are about to start another one in Gberigbe”.
