Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, announced palliatives for Lagos residents to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
Sanwo – Olu stated that Lagosians from Wednesday would start enjoying a 50 per cent reduction in transportation fares charged by buses operated by Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and a 25 per cent reduction by yellow buses across the state.
The governor also mentioned that discussions were ongoing with the authorities of Lagos Park and Garage to ensure effective implementation of the fare reduction for yellow buses.
Sanwo-Olu further disclosed that food packs would also be made available to the vulnerable population in the state on a daily basis. This, the governor said through Community Development Associations (CDAs), religious institutions and local governments
He also announced the provision of additional buses civil servants.
