Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the restructuring of key Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government, in line with the objective of ensuring improved performance and effective service delivery.
A release signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, said that the Ministry of Education has been divided into two, namely the Ministry of Tertiary Education and the Ministry of Basic Education.
According to him, the former Office of Special Adviser on Education is now to be known and addressed as the Ministry of Tertiary Education, with all the powers of a substantive government Ministry.
“While the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs has been upgraded to the Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, with the re-introduction of the Office of Rural Development”, he added.
Muri-Okunola stated further that the Office of Civic Engagement has been expanded to include the Political and Legislative Bureau, while the Office of Internal Audit, established in 2021, is now being given Legal Status.
