A total of 20 Grade six students of the Graceskies Schools located at Elepe Estate, Gbasemo, Ikorodu, on Tuesday, graduated from the school, with many passing out with honours.
The exciting valedictory and award ceremony, which was held at the school’s hall, was well – attended by parents and other guests.
Miss Lamina Hameedah Fiona emerged as the overall best pupil, securing admission into the Queens College on Merit.
Other students that graduated with honours were: Mabunmi Grace Temiloluwa, Adebayo Aariz, Emma-Ndukwu Christabel and Alabi Darasimi Uchech.
The ceremony also presented the school the opportunity to honour it’s staff for their service to the progress of the Graceskies.
The Head Teacher, Graceskies, Ms. Bola Ogunniyi, welcoming parents and students to the valedictory ceremony, thanked the parents for their support.
“I welcome our dear parents and pupils to this valedictory and award ceremony. We thank you for your support and prompt payment of your children’s school fees despite the harsh economy. Thank you for your commitment to giving your children a good education”, she said.
“To you, graduating students, this is just the beginning of your journey in life. From here, you proceed to secondary school and then university. I promise, I will be there at your graduation ceremony to celebrate with you”.
While congratulating other pupils still in school, for moving to the next class, Ms. Ogunniyi also charged them to engage in continuous study to be the best.
“I charge you other pupils that are still here to read and study very well so that when it is time, you too can graduate with flying colours. Thank you all for coming”, she said.
She also took time out to appreciate the teaching and non – teaching staff of the school for their immeasurable contributions.
The memorable event also featured recitations, cultural displays and choreography among others. There was also a special dance by the graduating class.
