Barring any unfortunate circumstances, the massive Primary Health Care centre at Oreta axis of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), will not only serve the host community, but also other nearby communities like Offin, Ewu Abiye, Ewu Oloja and Lajo, when completed.
This was the position of the Council Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Sesan Daini, while responding to THE IMPACT, in his office.
Daini assured that the medical facility, which its necessary equipment have been supplied by the Federal Government, will be completed soon and made available to the people, and also allayed fears that it would turn into another abandoned project.
The 20 – bed Primary Health Care facility with external work located at Oreta, THE IMPACT gathered, was facilitated by the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDG, Her Excellency, Mrs Orelope Adefulire.
The project, which its construction is being handled by the Messrs Sy – Kins Ventures Limited, 32, Associate Estate, Karimo, Abuja, commenced last year, and was completed with a fence, a few months back, while the main gate and security post are uncompleted yet.
Former Head of Service, Lagos State, Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe who has a very good relation with the SSA on SDG since when both worked together in Lagos, and Builder Sesan Daini, we gathered, also played significant roles in the construction of the project and the quick facilitation of the supply of necessary equipment and facilities.
THE IMPACT also gathered that necessary equipment and facilities necessary for the take – off of the centre’s operations, were supplied by the Federal Government in May, and are in safe keeping at the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Secretariat.
“The project is going on steadily and will soon be completed, and there is no reason for anyone to entertain any fear that it would be abandoned, because it is not just almost completed, but necessary equipment have been supplied and are safe in our council”, Builder Daini said.
“I can confirm to you that 20 beds, tables, chairs, generator, baby colts and motorbike among others, were supplied in May. This is to assure residents that the project is on course and will be made available for their usage.
“In no time, the council will be doing the needful on the facility to make it operational. We are going to be providing medical staff there. This, we are working on”, he said.
Builder Daini also told our reporter that the council is working towards securing another PHC for the Igbe community, stating that land has been made available for its construction.
“We are equally working on securing another medical facility at Igbe, to serve that axis. The land for its construction, has already been made available, and the former HoS, Prince Ogunlewe, is also assisting in this regard with his connections. That will be a 40 – bed medical facility. We hope to see the award of that contract too, because we have appreciated the SSA to the President, on the award of the Oreta’s health facility”. he said.
Also, the President, Nigeria Councilors’ Forum, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi who represents the area in the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Legislative Council, also confirmed to our reporter that the legislative arm is working with the executive, to ensure that the facility is operational soon.
He said that he and the Council Chairman spoke on Monday, on the need to erect a gate and security post for the structure, and added that the Chairman assured him that they would be done soon.
