Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), the umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos, has described the newest Doctor of Earth Sciences, Dr Oshinlaja, has an exceptional scholar and a rare breed who values education as a tool to liberate the society.
The Igbogbo – born scholar, on Wednesday, conferred with a doctoral degree by the Cardiff University, Cardiff, United Kingdom. A feat that has been celebrated in his home town.
In a statement titled, ‘Toast to a Knight’, signed by the President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), Comrade Ogunmuyiwa Kazeem O., today, the youths congratulate the scholar for his academic excellence.
“It takes only the exceptional supernatural beings to develop a zeal, carefully calculated steps, assertiveness and all prerequisites needed to achieve sterling achievements of this world”, he said.
“We find all pleasure, the amazing pride in expressing, whilst celebrating the rare achievement of our consigliere of invaluable personality; reality of his lifetime since childhood in Itun-Abosan, through his primary, secondary, University of Lagos where he bagged First Class Honours in Applied Physics (Geophysics), as well as journey for Masters’ Degree in University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom with distinction in Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (Hydrogeology); that he is a very rare breed, goal getter who values education as the only tool to liberate society, the only instrument to achieve an egalitarian society”.
IYC also described Oshinlaja as a perfect gentleman, role modeland scholar who belongs to the intelligentsia class and uses his intellect to seek progress and development of his community.
“As a confirmed Ọmọlúwàbí, Dr. Nurudeen Oshinlaja respects differences in humans as an important catalyst that must be used only for the general development of a given society. His love for socio-cultural aspects of the society, proves his uniqueness, thus, clarifies our stand that Dr. Nurudeen is the Prof. Wole Soyinka of the Land of Cool Beauty (Igbogbo Kingdom)”, he said.
