The new President of the Rotaract Club of Ikorodu Golden, Rotaractor (Barr.) Adeleke Aroyewun, Esq., has unveiled his agenda for the Rotary Year 2023/2024, during which he will be serving.
While stating that his administration will key into the principles and programmes of the Rotary International, Adeleke emphasized that he will focus on Sustainability, Welfare, Collaboration and Creativity (SWCC).
His administration kicked off the year immediately he was sworn into the office, with training for members of the club in agric – prenuership, opportunities in ICT and graphics designs, during which he facilitated resource persons that engaged the Rotaractors.
He followed that up last weekend with donations of food, toiletries and other items, as well as cash donation, to the Hikinos Orphanage Home, Igbogbo.
“Rotary is one of the organisations with planned and organized ways of doing things in the world, and as such, there have been laid down principles in terms of service. We will try to touch those avenues of service in promoting those Rotary principles. Basically, my own administration is on the mantra of Sustainability, Welfare, Collaboration and Creativity (SWCC)”, he said.
“Basically, we want to sustain all the lofty ideas and programmes of the club. One of which is the January Baby of the year celebration, during which we donate gifts to the first baby born in the year. We will also engage in educational programmes where we donate basic educational needs like sandals, school uniforms among others. There are others about disease prevention and polio drive, maternal and child healthcare where we give items to mothers to assist their deliveries. All of these are going to be touched.
“The other part is welfare and we want to ensure that members’ welfare is touched because you cannot give what you do not have. We want to make sure that we have proper welfare for our members so that they can impact more lives.
“We want to do more in term of schools’ donations, improving lives of young minds in the area of peace, security and conflict resolutions. For this, we will be partnering with the anti – cultism section of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), to ensure that we use their annual security summit, to talk to the youths and see to the eradication of cultism”, he added.
“We also want to put creativity into our actions in Ikorodu which is our domain, and we will try to impact more. We want the community to know more about what we are doing in terms of touching more areas of our services and making our projects domicile in Ikorodu”, Rotaractor Aroyewun emphasised.
