-Rep. Benson, Erogbogbo mourn
The death of Alhaja (Chief) Taofeekat Abiodun Allison, the Iya Oloja General of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, has been announced.
Alhaja Allison, who is also the Iya Oloja of the Ayangbure International market, popularly called ‘Sabo’ market in Ikorodu, was reported to have giving up the ghost earlir today.
She was an active market leader whose activities are known throughout the Ikorodu Division and the state as a whole.
In a phone conversation, Asiwaju Rotimi Erogbogbo, Chairman, Ikorodu – Oga Development Association (IKODASS), who said that he was informed of the late market leader’s death on his way to the Church, described the incident as a very sad development.
Erogbogbo said that the late Iya Oloja, whom he fondly called, ‘Mama’, was one of the strongest backbones of IKODASS, stating that she had over the years showed true commitment to the development of markets and the socio – cultural and developmental organization.
Rep. Babajimi Benson, in a statement he personally signed, commiserated with the late Iya Oloja’s family, and described her as a committed grassroots woman.
“I commiserate with the family of Allison over the demise of the Iyaloja General of Ikorodu Division, Alhaja Taofikat Abiodun Allison”, Rep. Benson said.
“Alhaja Allison was a dutiful, committed, resourceful and grassroots woman who dedicated the major part of her lifetime to the growth and development of Ikorodu Division.
“Her words of wisdom, useful advice, ingenuity and participation in community and state affairs, will be sorely missed.
“May the good Lord grants her soul eternal rest, and keep safe all that she left behind”, he prayed.
