As part of his educational development activities, Prof. Olanrewaju Shitta – Bey, PhD., a professor of Humanity, University of Maryland, Global Campus, United States of America (USA), has donated 12 Computer Tablets to students of Oriwu Senior and Junior Model Colleges, Ikorodu.
The education gadgets were presented to the principal of his former schools, Mr Akeem Bello, on Friday June 30, 2023.
According to the university don, the tablets are donated in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Shakirat Enifeni.
“The donation is done in memorial of my late mother, Alhaja Shakirat Enifeni, in the name of the foundation established in her name, Shakirat Enifeni Foundation.
“12 Computer Tablets are donated and are to be distributed to the best students in each department/unit, at each level of SS1, SS2, JS1, and JS2.
Prof. Shitta – Bey charged the beneficiaries to face their studies and be good ambassadors of their school, family and the country at large.
“I implore them to be good ambassadors of the College, themselves, and the country. The right education never fails”, he charged.
The principal of the Oriwu Senior Model College, Mr Akeem Bello, thanked the donor for the gesture.
He said that the tablets would go a long way in contributing to educational development of the beneficiaries.
“The tablets are to be shared with the junior school after the promotion examination of the 2022/2023 academic session”, he explained.
“Beneficiaries of the notepads will be the best students in the departments of science, business and humanity, in the senior school and the best students in JSS 1 and JSS 2 respectively.
“The donation is aimed at supporting the students’ learning activities.
“The management staff and students of Oriwu College express our sincere appreciation to Professor Shitta-Bey and Shakirat Enifeni Foundation for contributing to the development of Oriwu College and Education in Lagos State, towards equipping the future leaders of Nigeria”, Mr Bello said.
