Kunle Adelabu
The Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, has inaugurated the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee for the 2023 edition of the annual community day carnival.
Mr Naisr T. Andu – Balogun, received the royal blessing to oversee the planning and execution of the activities once again, as he took the oath of office as Chairman of the committee.
Andu has been at the helms of affair of coordinating the committee in the last two years
At the event where the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, High Chief Tajudeen Alade Duduyemi Onasanya represented the Adeboruwa, Alhaji Sherrif Junaid, Mr. Idris Adesina and Mr. Taofeek Ipaye were inaugurated as Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the committee respectively.
Other members re – appointed are: Alh. Sulaiman Ayokunle, Mr. Adewale Odumuyiwa, Hon. Adeyemi Oshodi, Alh. Ganiu Olubodun, Mr. Saheed Rufai, Mr. Ibrahim Ajibade, Mr. Faniyi Ismail, Mr. Sanni Abidemi Yusuf, Alhaja Nike Wahab, Mrs. Aminat Aroyewun, Miss. Fausat Oduntan, Mrs. Sherifat Olatoye, Lion Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, Hon. Hamed Aroyewun, Hon. Dauda Oshinlaja, Hon. Basirat Banjoko and Alhaji Gbadamosi Adewale.
Also retained on the committee are: Fatai Andu, Alhaja Khadijat Balogun, Mr. Ibikunle Sopitan, Mr. Muri Balogun, Hon. Francis Shonubi and Mr. Hamed Sholanke.
Newly appointed members of the committee are: Faniyi Isiaka, Mr. Saheed Idowu, Mr. Hamed Sodiq, Mr. Bode Oyesanya, Aliyah Ogunmuyiwa, Miss. Saidat Odeyemi, Mr Lateef Abdulrasak, Mr. Doyin Amokunmosa, Mr. Sherrif Sanni, Mr. Rasaq Oduntan, Mr. Wale Adeniji, Hon. Idowu, Com. Ojikutu Kehinde, Mr. Kabiru Baoku, Mr. Idowu Aregbesola, Mr. Nurudern Gbadamosi, Mrs. Iwapele Williams and Chief Adeoye Obayomi.
High Chief Onasanya, speaking at the inauguration, admonished the President of Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA) to develop succession plans for young ones to partake and seamlessly integrate them into developmental activities of the Kingdom.
He charged the planning committee to stage a memorable 2023 Igbogbo Day and ensure that every section of the community participated.
IDEA President, Dr. Omotunde Ogunlaja, in his remarks, appreciated members of the committee for their services to the community in the past, and also charged them to renew their commitment for better achievement this year.
Engineer Kalejaiye, a former Chairman of lgbogbo Day Planning Committee, also speaking, enjoined the committee on proper record so that those coming behind can learn from challenges they faced during their tenure and progress made.
Also at the inauguration were Chief (Mrs) Karimot Jokotade Ojikutu (Nee Idowu), the Iyalode of Igbogbo and Chief Yahya Agoro, the Apena of Igbogbo.
