It’s exactly three years today that the late Senator that represented the Lagos East Senatorial District at the National Assembly between June 2019 and June 15, 2020, Senator Adebayo Osinowo, passed away in active representative capacity to his people, and he’s being fondly remembered by his successor, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA.
Abiru, who succeeded the late grassroots politician after winning a bye – election and inaugurated into the National Assembly in December 2020, in a statement today, described the death of the late State and Federal legislator, as a colossal loss.
He saluted late Osinowo, fondly called ‘Pepper’ or ‘Pepperito’ by admirers, for his political impacts.
“The memories of my predecessor in the Senate, Late Distinguished Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, will always live on. He was an influential politician who impacted many lives in his political base and beyond. June 15, 2020, deep grief enveloped the entire Lagos State, when news got out that Pepperito had died. What a colossal loss!”, he said.
“Today, with a heart full of gratitude to Almighty Allah, I remember my illustrious predecessor who died in active service to our esteemed Constituents of the Lagos East Senatorial District.
“I salute Late Osinowo’s astuteness in politics and his sterling achievements when he served the good people of Kosofe Constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, and later as the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“As we all remember my beloved late predecessor, I join the family, friends and political associates of Late Senator Osinowo in praying for the continuous repose of his soul. May Almighty Allah be merciful to him in Al Jannah. Ameen”, Abiru prayed.
