Mr Adekunle Razaq Aderibigbe (ARA), the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) for the Ikorodu Constituency I, the Lagos State House of Assembly, in the last General Elections, has offered advices to the federal and state lawmakers representing Ikorodu, on how they should make their representations felt by the people.
Aderibigbe congratulated Senator Mikhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Honourable Babajimi Benson, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Honourable Adetokunbo Gbolahan Ogunleye, Ikorodu Constituency I, Lagos State House of Assembly and Honourable Aro Moshood Abiodun, Ikorodu Constituency II, on their victory at the last general elections about five months ago, and also for their successful inaugurations into the 10th National and State Assemblies.
His advices were contained in a statement released today and titled, ‘Congratulations and Words of Advice on the Inauguration of Ikorodu Lawmakers’.
“Distinguished Nobles, I extend my warmest congratulations to each of you on your remarkable victories and assumption to legislative assemblies for Ikorodu Constituency. Your success is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and the trust bestowed upon you by the constituents”, Aderibigbe said.
“As you assume office for this term, I offer my heartfelt advice to each of you. Remember that you are now entrusted with the responsibility to represent the aspirations and interests of the people. Embrace this role with humility, integrity, and a strong sense of duty”.
Advising the legislators individually, he said:
“Distinguish Senator Abiru, as you represent Lagos East District in the Senate, strive to be a voice for the people, an advocate for good governance, and a catalyst for positive change. Use your position to influence policies that promote sustainable development, social justice, and economic prosperity for the district and the nation”, the former candidate charged Sen. Abiru.
“Honourable Benson, as the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, seized the opportunity to be a beacon of hope and progress for the constituents. Engage in constructive dialogue, collaborate with fellow representatives, and champion initiatives that address the needs of the people, such as infrastructural development, job creation, and youth empowerment”, he counseled.
Aderibigbe also offered advices to the two Ikorodu State lawmakers on how they can integrate themselves into the hearts of the populace.
“Honourable Ogunleye, as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency 1, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, be a strong advocate for the welfare of the constituents. Prioritize effective governance, quality education, healthcare services, and sustainable community development. Empower the youths, support small businesses, and promote inclusivity in decision-making processes”, he said.
“Honourable Abiodun, as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency ll, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, work diligently to address the concerns and aspirations of your constituents. Advocate for improved infrastructure, responsive governance, and social welfare programs that uplift the lives of the people. Strive for transparency, accountability, and effective representation in all your endeavours”, he advised.
He charged them on the need to collaborate together in advancing their constituency and its people.
“Collectively, I implore each of you to foster unity, collaboration, and a spirit of service among yourselves and with other elected representatives. Seek opportunities for collaboration to maximize the impact of your efforts and bring about positive change for Ikorodu Constituency”, he charged.
“Remember, the trust placed in you by the people carries great responsibility. Remain accessible, listen to the concerns of the constituents, and work tirelessly to address their needs. Let transparency and accountability guide your actions, and always strive to uphold the principles of good governance.
“Once again, congratulations on your well-deserved victories, and I wish you all the best as you assume office and embark on this noble journey of serving the people”.
