Encomiums have continued to pour in for the immediate past representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I and former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, on his exit from the Assembly and the impacts of his 16 years’ representation.
Agunbiade, who was also the maiden Chairman, Nigerian Majority Leaders Forum, was replaced by Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo, son of the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), who resumed duty on Tuesday.
Latest of the commendations came from Barr. Hamzat Jimoh, a former Constituency Officer to Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, who is now based in England and Prince Ibrahim Alani Onibudo, a Canada based Ikorodu son.
Both expressed their congratulations on THE IMPACT platform.
Barr. Hamzat, lauding the erstwhile ranking lawmaker, said that his contributions to legislature will continue to reverberate beyond the Lagos State Assembly.
‘‘Dear Hon SOB, let me specially use this opportunity to congratulate you on the successful completion of your 4 term tenure as member of the Lagos State House of Assembly’’, Barr. Hamzat said.
‘’You have put your name in the good records of history and we are glad that you completed your assignment in good health and your landmark successes reverberating Ikorodu, as a voice to be reckoned with in the hallowed chambers.
‘’Your brilliant and positive legislative contributions will remain references in legislative contributions in Lagos and Nigeria. Your eloquent cum resounding voice will be missed on the floor of the house’’, he added.
While wishing Agunbiade well, the young political operative also said that his wealth of experience will be needed in other areas of responsibilities.
‘’Indeed, you have written your name in the sand of time and it remains indelible. I pray that you shall not have any failing health as you take a short break, while I wish you good tidings with the high hopes that you shall assume a greater role and responsibility soonest”, he said.
‘’Accept my heartfelt wishes’’.
In his own message, Prince Onibudo said that the former lawmaker has always made his impacts felt in numerous areas of responsibilities that he was saddled with.
While stating that he made great contributions in the last eight years, the Canada – based Ikorodu indigene said that he would forever hold Hon. Agunbiade in high regard.
‘’From time to time, Hon SOB has been a great achiever. From the time he was the SUG president in LASU; to the time he was leading the Grips Klubb of Lagos; to the time he was the Personal Adviser to our Former Commissioner for Agriculture, and when he was the Patron of the Ikorodu Students’ Association, he has been contributing a whole lot to the development of Ikorodu’’, he said.
‘’When he later got to the State House of Assembly, he made immense contributions in the House and on the home front, during the four terms he spent representing Ikorodu Constituency 1.
‘’Personally, I will forever hold him in high esteem and I sincerely wish him the very best in his future endeavours’’, Onibudo said.
