-Promises more projects in Transportation, Health, Road Infrastructure, others
Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday expressed deep appreciation to God and the people for the massive show of support that culminated in his re-election, promising not to take the people for granted.
The Governor spoke at the 2nd Term Inauguration Thanksgiving Service held at the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, Ikeja, tagged: “New Dawn.”
Represented by a Member of the Inauguration Committee and former Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Office of Environmental Services, Mrs Belinda Odeneye, the Governor said the overwhelming support and his re-election would be rewarded with hard work and more work in the interest of the people.
He said in his second term, there will be more focus on inclusive government in which no one is left behind, adding that there would be greater development and sustained growth.
The Governor revealed that the THEMES Agenda has been updated with THEMES Plus representing the incorporation of intensified focus on social inclusion, gender equality and youth empowerment.
He also assured that there will be more projects in key sectors including Transportation, Health, Road Infrastructure and Others.
In his sermon, the Presiding Chaplain of Chapel of Christ The Light, Ven Ezekiel Oluwadara commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for the superlative strategies adopted to tackle COVID-19, Endsars protests and infrastructural renewal.
He said the reward for hard work is more work, urging the Governor to continue to work in the best interest of the people.
He also admonished the people to show love to others and embrace unity which, according to him, are pivotal to drive growth and development.
At the service, there were prayers for the First Family, Mr Deputy Governor and his family, the incoming State Cabinet, Lagos State and Nigeria.
Also, there were special ministrations by Evang Esther Igbekele, Chapel of Christ The Light Choir, and others.
