History was recorded today as the only functional public library in the entire Ikorodu Division, the Alogba Library, attained full e- facility status. This is coming after years of attempts and plans.
The e- facility, which will enables the Library to serve its users better, is being sponsored by Dr Benjamen Eniayewun, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission. With the development, users can now access thousands of e – textbooks, educational videos and instruction materials on the library computers or on their own laptops, once connected.
THE IMPACT had reported few days back that the library would be upgraded.
The e- facility has textbooks in all subjects for pupils from Primary 1 – 6 students. Also, there are thousands of materials for the use of students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions, covering all subjects and disciplines.
According to the Librarian, Mrs Makinde Omotayo, there are also educational and development materials for professionals in various fields of human endeavours.
She commended the Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Group and the Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board led by Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe and the Alogba Library Committee led Prince Rotimi Ogunleye, on conversion of the library to an e – library facility.
Omotayo said that the library is more than ever ready to serve its users better.
