Residents and road users of Ipakodo and Ibeshe road will soon heave a sigh of relief and enjoy smooth ride on the road constructed about 10 years ago, as rehabilitation of several damaged portions have commenced.
There has been public outcry over the years on the need to relay and fix some sections of the road constructed by the administration of the former Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babatunde Fashola, SAN, when the interlock stones started giving way and causing serious threats to road users.
It was learnt that the rehabilitation started few weeks back.
The Councilor representing Owode/Ibeshe axis of Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area, Hon. Matthew Kola Arowolo, has, on many occasions, sponsored palliative measures on the road to make it motorable.
Most affected portions are the Ipakodo/NBC roundabout, frontage of Livingstone College, Ascension filling station, in-between Molatori palace and Igbo Agbowa junction, United Textile (Cappa) section, and Ibeshe housing estate section among others.
While the Ipakodo roundabout, Cappa section and lbeshe axis have been fixed, rehabilitation work is ongoing on Ascension filling station section and other portions.
