-Receives commendations over completion of Ajose road
The lawmaker representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, today, toured the road projects that he facilitated across the constituency.
He was at the recently completed Ajose – Oke – Ota Road, Owode – Ibeshe in Igbogbo/Bayeku Development Council Area; Grammar School/Mobil/Oguneye/Agbele Roads in Ikorodu Local Government and Erunwen Road located within the Ikorodu North LCDA.
The IMPACT, had on Friday reported on the state of the road projects.
It was an opportunity for the chieftains and residents of Ajose – Oke – Ota area, to thank the lawmaker who was re – elected at the last General Elections, when he visited for the on – going projects, for on-the-spot assessment.
Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, led others including Hon. M.K.O Arowolo, the Councilor representing the area, in welcoming the lawmaker.
Residents, comprised of party chieftains, community leaders and residents, appreciated and sang many songs to praise Rep. Benson. They described him as a quality and responsive representative.
Addressing the residents who trooped out to welcome him, Rep. Benson commended them for their collaborative effort and for voting the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including himself, in the last elections.
He, however, expressed his displeasure over the unprovocative attack on unarmed military personnel.
During the inspection at Agbele, the lawmaker walked many miles with the entourage, as he was hailed and praised by residents in appreciation of his gesture.
Among those in his entourage were: Alhaji Jimoh Dullar, APC chieftain, Alhaji Animashaun, APC Chairman, Ikorodu LG, Hon. Kemi Buraimoh, Councilor representing the area, Chief Musliu Salau Baale Ojoru, Mr Yusuf Gbadebo, former Supervisory Councilor and Hon. Jimoh Azeez Olosugbo, former Councilor of the area and Council Leader, Ikorodu LG.
The tour also presented an opportunity for residents to raise their concerns on the ongoing road project, while the lawmaker equally responded to the issues raised.
It was the same situation at the Erunwen, as the lawmaker was received by a massive crowd of residents, when he visited the area to inspect the on-going road project which he also facilitated.
A senior military officer who was in mufti and incharge of the project being constructed by the Defense Headquarters, was also on ground to receive the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, and his large entourage.
Just like when The IMPACT team inspected the road last week, construction workers were seen on site working during the visit by Rep. Benson.
Also on ground for the tour were: Director – General, iCare Foundation, the Rep. Benson’s working team, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Maritime, Prince Yommy Shopitan, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Ola Apanisile, Mr Adeleke Kara, Commissioner, TESCOM and other iCare members.
Aliu Abdullahi from Adamawa State and an okada rider at Ajose Owode – Ibeshe area commended the lawmaker for the road project.
“We are happy with the road because we can move freely. We are thankful to the facilitator of the road and we wish him all the best”.
Alhaja Salaudeen Shakirat, woman leader, ward C4, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, also expressed her appreciation to the lawmaker for his intervention.
“We are thankful to Hon. Babajimi Benson for coming to our aid by constructing this road”, she said.
A young resident of Oke Ota, Olayinka Olayemi, described the situation before the intervention by Rep. Benson, as terrible.
“The situation before now was very terrible. But now, I am very happy that the road has been fixed. Before, the situation was very bad, especially during the rainy season because moving around was not easy. People get injured often on motorcycles”, he said.
“We are happy with the road and there are also streetlights which usually illuminate the road at night. I am really happy about that”.
Chief Musliu Salau, Baale Ojoru, also commended the lawmaker for accepting their request to construct what he described as a very bad road.
The Councilor representing Ward F, Hon. Oluwakemi Buraimoh, also speaking with THE IMPACT, commended the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, for his intervention and for all he has been doing in his constituency.
He, however, charged him to do more for the benefit of his people.
