The Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, His Eminence, Fadeelat Sheikh Al-Imam, Aliu Seifudeen Ayinla Ademoritan Olowo-Oribi, has urged Muslims faithful to continue with the exemplary lifestyle imbibed during the one month Ramandan fasting period.
The revered Islamic cleric, who spoke with THE IMPACT at the Ikorodu Central Mosque Eid Prayer Ground, Oke Ota-Ona, lkorodu, after the Eid prayer, on Friday, also said that every citizen could live happily if they follow the principles of the Holy Month in their daily existence.
In the same vein, High Chief Adeniyi Ajayi, the Eletu of Oke – Eletu, in ljede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), who joined Muslim faithful for the Eid-el-Fitr prayer at the Oke – Eletu Central Mosque Prayer Ground, at the Methodist Primary School, Oke – Eletu, equally tasked residents to sustain the experience of the 29 days fasting period.
THE IMPACT also observed the Eid-il-Fitr prayer at the Anwar – Ul – Islam Prayer Ground, opposite the Ikorodu Technical College, Grammar School, Ikorodu.
Also at the Ikorodu Central Mosque prayer ground for the Eid-el-Fitr prayer were: Distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Dr (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LSUBEB), Engr. Charles Longe, former National President, Oriwu College Old Students’ Association of Nigeria (OCOSAN), Alhaji Monzor Kolawole Olowosago, Publisher, Oriwu Sun newspaper, Alhaji Musliu Animashaun (De Cubano), Oloye Oye Solebo, APC Chieftain, among others.
Meanwhile, in his sermon, Grand Imam Olowo-Oribi who led the Eid prayer, charged Muslims to continue with the pious principles beyond the Ramadan season.
“My instruction to all the Muslim faithful is that we must adhere strictly to the lessons that we were taught during the Ramadan period. The lessons revolve around how we should live our life, and that a good Muslim doesn’t fight, always accommodating, patient, and must be a cheerful giver”, he said.
“If we live in accordance with these rules, life generally will be easy for the rich and other people, because during Ramadan, immoral acts are always not common. That is why Allah commanded us to desist from wrong doings by observing fasting.
On the clashing of the Eid-el-Fitr prayer and Jumat prayer, Imam Olowo-Oribi said that the situation was not significant, but a mere coincidence.
“There is nothing more to it. It is out of ignorance for some to say that you cannot observe Khutbah (sermon) twice a day. We just observed the Eid prayer, and we must also observe the Jumat as well. It is the blessings of Allah”, the Grand Chief Imam explained.
The Eletu of Oke – Eletu, High Chief Adeniyi Ajayi who observed the prayer for the first time in his capacity as the traditional head of the community, speaking with our reporter, charged Muslim residents to always put the community in their prayers.
“I am highly glad and want to sincerely thank the Almighty Allah for allowing me to witness what is happening today at Oke – Eletu, being my first time to observe the Eid prayer as the Eletu of Oke – Eletu. I thank God for that”, he said.
“I equally want to thank the Muslim clergies that have been fervent in their prayers and all others in Oke Eletu, for observing this Ramadan as God has ordained us to do it”.
In his message to Muslims and general residents of Oke Eletu, Chief Ajayi, like Chief lmam Olowo-Oribi, charged them to continue with the good deeds that they have imbibed during the fasting period.
“My message is very simple, during the Ramadan period, we observed a very clean period and desist from sinful acts. I, therefore, want to urge all Muslim brothers and sisters to maintain that standard after Ramadan.
“We must also be fervent in our prayers to pray for the development of Oke – Eletu”, High Chief Ajayi charged.
At the Anwar –Ul – Islam Prayer Ground, where Chief lmam, Alhaji Imam Muhammadu Quassim Olamilekan Olapade led the Eid prayer, were Alhaji Kadri Agbaje, the National Chairman, Youth Wing of the movement, Otunba Adewale Rafiu, Alhaji Badru Enifeni, APC chieftain, Alhaji Junaid Owokodu, former Chairman, Ikorodu LG, and Alhaja Boras Agbaje, a business woman among others.
Shortly after the Eid prayer, Imam Olapade led chieftains and members of the movement on a courtesy visit to the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, in his palace.
Alhaji Imam Disu Soyiga, the Chief Imam of Oke – Eletu Central Mosque, led the Eid prayer at the Methodist Primary School, Oke – Eletu, Ijede, with Alhaji Ibrahim Olugbenga Sobote, Baba Adinni, Oke – Eletu Central Mosque and other chieftains in attendance.
After the Eid prayer, Imam Disu Soyiga led the large congregation on a courtesy visit to the Eletu of Oke – Eletu, High Chief Adeniyi Ajayi, in his palace where special prayers were offered for him and the entire community.
It was also gathered that the Eid prayers were also observed at different parts of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.
At the lgbogbo Central Mosque Eid Prayer Ground, the Chief Imam, Igbogbo Central Mosque, Fadeeahtul -Sheikh Al – Imam Dhikrullah Abdulahi Andu (Tanimose) led the Eid-il-Fitr prayer, with the Adeboruwa of lgbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, and eminent sons and daughters of Igbogbo, in attendance.
