Kith & Kin Schools Encourage Pupils On Team Work, Hands On Skills Projects

As part of the Kith and Kin Nursery and Primary Schools’ efforts in improving their pupils’ skills and making them responsible individuals, the schools have introduced what they termed, ‘Group Project’.

The initiative, which was introduced as part of the second term assessment, was designed to promote collaboration and teamwork amongst the students.

The exercise involves pupils of Kith and Kin Nursery School and Basic six classes.

While Basic 6 pupils collectively embarked on designing Human heart; Basic 5 and 4 pupils engaged the designing of the project Human Respiratory system and Digestive system respectively.

Moreso, Basic 3 pupils’ worked on Soil project, while Basis 2 and 1 pupils were saddled with the responsibilities of designing Sense of taste and Part of a plant respectively.

According to one of schools’ supervisors, the projects were done as a “Group Project” for each of the classes.

“This is meant to encourage collaboration and teamwork among the pupils. These are important skills to develop as they grow up to become responsible adults”, she said.

“In addition, we also wish to use the group project to encourage and sustain pupils’ hands-on skills”.

Mr Adebanjo Olusegun John, Head Teacher, Kith and Kin Nursery and Primary School, speaking with THE IMPACT, commended the pupils for what they have been able to achieve through teamwork. He also thanked their teachers for their guidance.

“I must commend the effort and the zeal put in by the pupils right from the sketching stage to the final stage. I give kudos to all the pupils and appreciate their teachers also for their guidance all through the different stages of the projects”, he said.

“The projects promote social bonding among the pupils as they interacted, agreed and disagreed at some stages of the projects, while at the same time learning.

“As the theme for this term goes; ‘We are S.T.A.R.S; We Study; We Try; We Achieve; For Recognition; And Success’.

“The pupils have studied, they’ve tried and achieved for recognition and success”, Mr Adebanjo said.

The Head Teacher, speaking on what the school will be doing with the projects, said:

“The projects will be displayed in the school’s science laboratory to serve as instructional aid during relevant teaching and learning”.

“I would like to appreciate the parents and the school Management for their support”, he said.
