The umbrella body of youths in Igbogbo, the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), has sent an open letter to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, regarding the disturbing state of projects in Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
IYC, in an open letter to the governor, signed by Comrade Kazeem O. Ogunmuyiwa and Comrade Comfort O. Olafare, President and Secretary, Igbogbo Youth Coalition, respectively, and received by THE IMPACT on Easter Monday, called the governor’s attention to projects that have dragged on for years, and others that they are asking him to take up as a matter of urgency.
Some of the projects listed that have been on for years or months and which works have stopped are Igbogbo/Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, Agunfoye Road, Igbogbo Stadium and Agbele Primary Health Centre, Igbogbo. Others are igbogbo/Bayeku Road, Olu-Odo-Lajo Road and Offin/Oreta Road.
The group, which also congratulated Sanwo – Olu on his re – election, also stated that the massive support that the governor and his party got from the Ikorodu Division, in the last elections, are reaffirmation by the residents of the division in his capacity to take governance of the state to another level.

CONGRATULATORY LETTER/REQUEST FOR GOVERNOR’S ATTENTION ON PROJECTS IN IGBOGBO
The above-named Organization, being the apex body of all youths in Igbogbo town of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu Division, express our unfeigned congratulations to you on your re-election as Executive Governor of Lagos State.
We affirm, again, that your victory is well deserved and ordained, your efforts in developing the various sectors of Lagos State, including healthcare, infrastructure, sports, education among others, are noteworthy and unprecedented, your re-election just came as a sincere appreciation from all Lagosians for your expression of love through your relentless efforts in ensuring genuine growth for Lagos State.
The massive votes recorded across Ikorodu Division is a testament of our belief in your government, and a repose of our confidence in your ability to dwarf your existing records by creating new ones. We also seize this opportunity of the polls to thoroughly appreciate all projects initiated by this Government in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
Whilst we hold the greatest conviction that Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA will be taken care of by your government, we wish to draw your attention to certain projects that would seamlessly earn you great credits and admiration from the people of Igbogbo.
While some of these projects have been set in motion, the others require fresh intervention. They include:
- Igbogbo-Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road Phase II (in deadly progress).
- Igbogbo Stadium (in deadly progress)
- Obafemi Awolowo Way/Baiyeku Road (in slow pace).
- Offin-Oreta Road (required urgent attention).
- Agunfoye Road
- Olumo Road
- Olu-Odo-Lajo Road.
- Agbele Primary Health Centre, Igbogbo.
The importance of these projects to the development of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and Lagos State, cannot be trivialized. Aside aiding ease of movement, it is also a significant boost to the economy of the state and their completion would easily rank you as the best Governor to have ruled this state.
