Son of the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, and the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly member-elect, Mr Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA), has assured residents of Ikorodu that he will not let them down as their representative.
Ogunleye thanked the electorate for coming out to support and vote for him, and the governorship candidate of his party, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, on Saturday.
He shared his views with our reporter on Sunday (yesterday), after he was declared and returned as the winner of the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat.
“After the long process, I just want to thank the people of Ikorodu for believing in the All Progressive Congress and for coming out to vote for me and Governor Sanwo-Olu, yesterday (Saturday). I just want to thank them for their support for the party and promise not to let them down”, he said.
“I thank them for coming out to exercise their civic responsibility yesterday.
“From the results we have seen, it is a bit better than the last one (election), and I am going to thank the people of Ikorodu for coming out better than the last time, even though we had expected more people to come out. Nonetheless, we still have slight improvement from the previous election”, he said.
He assured the Ikorodu people of bringing the dividends of democracy after he’s been inaugurated and the House convened.
“When the House is convened, I will make sure I bring the dividends of democracy to my people. That is what I can say and make sure their pains are felt and also make sure I disturb the government until their demands are fulfilled. I will be doing these for them and make them know that I am actually speaking for them”, he said.
