Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, the Divisional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has charged the two elected members of the Lagos State House of Assembly that will be representing the Ikorodu Constituencies I and II, of the need to listen more and attend to people’s needs if they are to be successful.

The APC chieftain spoke with THE IMPACT at Solomade in Ikorodu on Sunday, after the declaration of Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA) and Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) as winners of the Assembly elections in Ikorodu Constituency l and II respectively. The announcement of their victories and their returns were made by the INEC Returning Officers, Prof. Bassey Ubana, (Ikorodu Constituency I) and Dr Folashade Afolabi, (Ikorodu Constituency II) at the INEC office in Ikorodu, respectively.

The APC Chairman, while asking the elected lawmakers to see their victories as acts of God, also revealed that the party went into the election with so much fear and uncertainties.

“To the newly elected Assembly men, they should see the victory as hand of God, and whatever God does to you is for a purpose and the purpose is for you to remember that this people are not that happy and they need more attention and that attention, you must provide, you must give to them, listen to them, get them right and attend to their demands”, Otunba Tijani said.

“We need a lot of things to be done and they should represent us well. They must let the Governor know that the Ikorodu population is moving up beyond what we thought. People who could not afford land in Kosofe, Ketu, Mushin are moving to Ikorodu. What we need is infrastructures and the fourth mainland bridge should be the priority of the Governor this time around. If completed, that will ease a lot of traffic within Ikorodu. We should focus on them to reduce traffic.

Speaking on the Saturday’s elections, the APC Divisional Chairman, who said that his party went into it with great uncertainties, also said that he felt fulfilled after the challenging elections.

“We went into the election with more fear and uncertainties, but, of course, we feel so happy today that God is on our side and people have realized that no matter what people say, God has his own way of compensating people. God is compensating the party for doing good”, he said.

“I feel so fulfilled and I am very happy that God is on our side, despite all threats and challenges, we came victorious”, he added.
