The candidate of the Labour Party, Osho Semiu Adetokunbo in the just concluded Assembly election, lost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo (OGA).
Polling unit 006, which was located in front of the LP candidate’s house in Aga, Ikorodu, was effectively manned by the agents of the APC and other members of the party who were fully on the ground, including the LP candidate’s brother.
At the end of the exercise, Osho only managed to mobilize 8 votes for the LP in the Assembly election, while APC won the booth with 84 votes, while PDP got 8 votes.
The LP Assembly candidate was also unable to win the booth for his party’s governorship candidate, Mr Gbadebo Rhodes – Vivour.
For the Governorship election, APC secured 83, while LP and PDP garnered 9 and 8 votes respectively.
Attempts to speak with Osho during the exercise proved abortive. Our reporters waited for about 30 minutes outside his house and left when there was no sign of him coming out of the house to attend to us.
Also, Kazeem Adeniyi Owoyele, who claimed to be the candidate of the LP and recogised by the party, was also not available to comment on the election. Calls and messages to his mobile phone were not returned as at the time of filing this report.
