A total of 10 political parties would be doing battle later today for the Ikorodu Constituency I and II seats in the Lagos State House of Assembly, while 8 parties are fielding candidates in Constituency I, 10 are jostling for the seat in the Constituency II.
In the two Constituencies, the two serving state legislators, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, the Lagos Majority Leader, who is representing the Ikorodu Constituency I for the fourth term and Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, a two – term lawmaker will not be returning for the 10th Assembly, which makes the seats open for grab by any of the candidates.
In the final list of the candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), last year, the candidates for the Labour Party (LP) are Osho Semiu Adetokunbo (Constituency I) and Adetula Fausat Olaide (Constituency II), but two others – Mr Kazeem Adeniyi Owoyele and Mrs Nwagbo James Jacinta Oluwadarasimi are recognize by the new leadership of the party, as candidates for the Ikorodu Constituency I and II respectively.
The amended list on the electoral umpire’s site did not also indicate change of candidates by the LP in Ikorodu.
