-Charges residents on the need to vote
Ọmọ Ológo Foundation, a non – governmental and non – profit organisation is set to provide refreshment for voters at polling booths across the lkorodu Constituency 2 area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
The provision of the refreshments is, according to report, part of the group’s efforts in encouraging residents to partake in the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections slated for tomorrow, across the federation.
Coordinator of the group, Comrade Olumide Sofowora, in a chat with THE IMPACT on Friday, said:
“The aim of the programme is to encourage voters’ participation in the Governorship and the State Assembly elections coming up on Saturday”.
He encouraged voters to come out en masse to exercise their voting right peacefully.
He also advised the youths to eschew any form of violence and resist being tools of destruction for unscrupulous politicians.
The group hopes that the provision of the refreshment will encourage a higher voters’ turnout compared to the presidential elections.
Mr Oke Godwin OlaOluwa, a member of the group, also speaking, said:
“I implore voters’ not to be intimidated. They should come out en masse, and exercise their right to vote for candidates of their choice”.
