The traditional institution in Ikorodu Kingdom has debunked rumors making the round that the most important festival in Ikorodu – the Eluku festival, will commence today through Tuesday, March 21, and that non – indigenes should stay indoor.
The social media platforms related to Ikorodu have been bombarded with notice of the Eluku festival starting on the eve of the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections which are slated for Saturday, March 18.
In an another notice, it was also claimed that there will an Oro festival.
However, in an announcement titled, ‘It’s A Big Lie’, signed by High Chief Murisiku Olabanji Oreagba, the Olumale Eluku Of Ikorodu Kingdom (the head of Eluku Cult), residents of Ikorodu are directed to go about their normal business.
“On behalf of H.R.M. Oba Abdul-Kabir Adewale Shotobi (the Ayangbunren of Ikorodu), High Chief Murisiku Olabanji OreAgba (the Olumale Eluku Of Ikorodu) and all the Eluku Chiefs of Ikorodu, hereby, disclaim the rumours posted on top on the said dates and tell everyone to go out to their normal respective duties/places”, the notice stated.
