A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Chief Remi Adiukwu, has appealed to residents in the state to support and re-elect Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as governor of Lagos State, in the election coming up on Saturday.
The former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Lagos State, made the appeal, especially to the Igbos and other non – indigenes in Lagos on Thursday.
She made the appeal at the grand finale of her political group’s Crystal Alliance Market Storm/Campaign and House-to-House Canvassing for APC candidates.
The political leader, who is married to an Igbo man, charges Igbos to vote massively for Sanwo – Olu, his deputy and other APC candidates.
Adiukwu, who was represented by Mr Dare Falade, the spokesperson of the group, also added that the group endorsed the governor because of his track records which must continue.
“We, the leaders of Crystal Alliance, have observed some trends, which led to the public endorsement of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election”, she said.
“The shift in election date, which does not in any way contravene any law, has afforded us the window to canvass the electorate in the 245 wards and 13, 325 voting polling units,” the politician said.
“Therefore, choosing a real leader out of a pack of good, the ugly currently on parade in the state of excellence becomes a task beyond a knife through the butter’s consideration.
“Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s ideals and ideas in the quest for a mutual and cordial relationship in the interest of the state and humanity are exceptional,” she said.
The APC chieftain said that the group had done a lot in terms of operational and logistics support for members of her group across the state to enhance the victory of the governor.
Speaking earlier, Pastor Abiodun Talade, Chairman, Crystal Alliance, also said that the political group is in full support of the governor and his deputy’s re – election tomorrow.
According to him, the group mobilized party members across the wards and polling units in the state, while also adding that the shift in the election date by a week has afforded them the opportunity to canvass for more votes for the re – election of the governor.
Chief Jamiu Ololade Animashaun, a chieftain of the group from Mushin, said that they are not happy with the outcome of the last Presidential and the National Assembly elections, hence, the need for the massive mobilisation.
“We are not happy with the outcome of the last elections’ results in this area and since then, we have been doing everything to mobilise our people to come out and make corrections where necessary”, he said.
“We are charging our members and residents generally to come out on Saturday with families and vote for Sanwo – Olu and other APC candidates”
