Hon. Agunbiade, Abike Dabiri, Hon. Akinsola Deliver Units For Tinubu, Other APC Candidates

The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade and the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Nigerians in Diasporas Commission (NiDCom), Hon. Abike Dabiri – Erewa, proved their popularity in their respective political bases as they won the Presidential election for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the same vein, the former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola, also delivered her polling unit for the APC Presidential candidate.

Also, the trio also won their polling units for Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Rep. Babajimi Benson who are the APC candidates for the Lagos East Senatorial seat and Ikorodu Federal Constituency position respectively.

While Agunbiade voted at booth 043 beside the Mobil Petrol Station, Grammar School, Hon. Abike voted at booth 007 (Erogbogbo House) along Aayngbure Road and Hon. Akinsola voted at booth 009, Ojubode/Yewa junction, Igbogbo.

The former aspirant for the Ikorodu Constituency II, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) also voted at booth 009, Ojubode/Yewa junction, Igbogbo.

At Hon. Agunbiade’s polling booth, INEC arrived around 10.40am, while the accreditations commenced immediately and followed with voting proper. The exercise went peacefully with the agents and voters cooperating to ensure seamless voting.

At the end of the exercise, APC defeated other parties in the Presidential election at booth 043. The ruling party won with 143 votes, while PDP scored 10 votes, Labour 38 votes and AAC 1 vote.

In the announced results for the Senatorial election, APC scored 172 votes to defeat PDP (20votes), NNPP (5votes) and AAC (5votes) among others.

A total of 169 voters cast their votes for APC to defeat PDP (23 votes), AAC (7 votes) and NNPP (4 votes).

Hon. Abike, who voted at polling booth 007, Ayangbure Road, arrived at the polling unit at 11.22am with her husband, Mr Erewa, while INEC officials arrived with voting materials around 10am.

At her unit, APC scored 29 votes to defeat Labour Party (10 votes), PDP (4 votes) and ADC (1 vote) in the Presidential election.

In the Senatorial, APC also won with 44 votes while PDP scored 3, while in the House of Representatives election, APC also won with 48 votes, with PDP having 2 votes.

At polling booth 009 where the former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Akinsola and former Assembly aspirant, Mr Aroyewun voted in Igbogbo, it was also APC all the way.

At the booth, APC scored 137 votes to defeat the Labour Party (29 votes), PDP (8 votes), ADC (1 vote) and ADP (2 votes) and other parties, in the Presidential election.

In the Senatorial election, APC scored 153 votes, PDP 15 votes, ADC 4 votes, YPP 2 votes and SDP 3 votes to win the election for Sen. Abiru.

It was also a successful outing for the APC House of Representatives candidate, Rep. Benson who scored 158 votes against PDP 17 votes, Accord 1 vote, SDP 1 vote and ADC 2 votes.
