The two term lawmaker, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, secured the total commitment of the chieftains and members of the Ikorodu Sogidowo Sawmill Association, Itamaga, Ikorodu, as they declared their total support for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the forthcoming general elections.
They pledged to vote massively for the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, the Lagos State Senatorial candidate, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru and the Ikorodu House of Representatives candidate, Rep. Babajimi Benson.
Other candidates on the APC ballot that they declared support for are Mr Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo and Mr Aro Moshood Abiodun who are candidates for the lkorodu Constituency l and ll Assembly seats respectively.
Encouraged to see their total commitments to the victory of Asiwaju Tinubu and other APC flag bearers, Rep. Benson, who himself is seeking re – election for the third term, approved the markets’s requests for solar power poles and borehole water projects.
According to the performing lawmaker, the projects will commence immediately.
“I have never seen a group like this before. I wish that other Nigerians are like you. You have shown that you are totally for Jagaban”, Benson said.
“We are going to do Road Show Campaign on Thursday. I want you to join us. I like your swaggers, commitment and how you convey your message. I will never forget you all.
“Now that you have declared totally for Asiwaju Tinubu at the federal level, lets now come back to Lagos.Our governor is a good man. We are going to re – elect Sanwo – Olu.
“For the Senate, we are going to re – elect the #DoingGood Senator to represent us. At the Assembly, we are going to elect Ogunleye Adetokunbo Gbolahan (OGA) and Aro Abiodun (AMA).
He charged the plank sellers to look for the logo of the APC which is a broom and thumbprint in front of it.
“Lastly, who are going to vote for the candidate of the Ikorodu House of Representatives seat?”, Rep. Benson asked the charged crowd of plank sellers roared with a loud shout of ‘JB’, ‘Baba Jimi’ and ‘James Bond’.
“I want to be hearing ‘APC’, ‘APC’, ‘APC’, althrough when the ballot papers are being counted on Saturday. We want the polling unity in this plank market to record the highest votes for the APC in Nigeria. Only then, that we can assist you in talking to Sanwo – Olu for anything that you want”, he said.
The long motorcade of Rep. Benson moved from the plank market through Itamaga/Obafemi Awolowo Way, Sheriff, Ireshe to link California, Ikorodu Club Road, Borokinni, while residents kept shouting ‘JB’ as the campaign road show passed through various streets.
The Presidential and the National Assembly elections are scheduled for Saturday, February 25, while the Governorship and State Assemblies elections come up on Saturday, March 11.
