-As BOSYOPS continues mobilisation across state
Over 1, 500 religious leaders in Lagos West Senatorial District, have declared their support for the re –election of Governor Olushola Sanwo – Olu and his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, in the forthcoming general elections.
The clergymen, who represent the body of Christ, also pledged their support for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
The religious leaders made the declaration at Alimosho area of the state on Monday, when chieftains and members of the Bababjide Olushola Sanwo – Olu Youth Professional Support Group (BOSYOPS) extended their mobilization for the re – election of the governor, to the axis.
The event took place at the Divine Emporium, Alimosho, Lagos.
BOSYOPS has been moving from one part of the state to the other, canvassing and garnering support for the governor and other APC candidates and this time around, saw the need to seek the support of the religious leaders who took a firm stand concerning the future of the state, when approached by the group.
Prince S.J Samuel, Chairman, BOSYOPS, in his keynote address at the parley, said that the Sanwo – Olu administration has unite Lagos, while soliciting the support of the religious leaders for his re – election.
“Over the years, the devil has struck us and divided us. He has fragmented our strength and so our voices are not one, but we praise God today for the opportunity to be in this hall and a symbol ( Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu) that God has used to bring the church together”, he said.
“I want to say thank you to the body of Christ in Lagos, represented by the great men of God that are sitting down here”.
He charged them to take a positive and firm stand concerning the future of Lagos which he said is represented by the incumbent governor.
Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Bisola Olusanya, said that Sanwo – Olu is a God-sent who has been holding the state firmly together, adding that it is important to re – elect him and other APC candidates, including its Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Tinubu.
“We have said so many things here today, particularly the fact that this man is a man called by God at such a time like this to hold Lagos together. A lot has been said about what he did during COVID 19, even the issues surrounding EndSARS. Whatever the case may be, this man is still holding strong.
“And, please, when you are voting, vote for APC, Lagos State Government has shown what they can do and will continue to do.
“Please vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu come February 25th next week, and for Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on March 11 2023”, she pleaded.
Bishop Steven Ogedengbe, the Presiding Bishop, Wisdom Chapel Evangelical Ministries, led the over 1000 clergymen in making a declaration for the support of Sanwo – Olu, which was read after him by others.
“As representative of Christ, on this day 13th of February, we join hands in prayer and solidarity to declare our support for the reelection of his excellency, Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu”.
