Hundreds of youths in Badagry/Ojo/Oto-Awori and Iba Local Government Areas (LGA/LCDAs) of Lagos State, have pledged their support to the re – election of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu and his deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
The youths, under the aegis of Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu Youth Professional Support Group (BOSYOPS), pledged their allegiance to support the incumbent who is vying for a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at town hall meetings at Ojo and Badagry Local Government Areas, on Thursday, February 9, 2023.
The group, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms Bisola Olusanya as its Lead Convener, comprises of vibrant, socio-politically oriented and technologically savvy youths who cut across all walks of life.
BOSYOPS members, who are also young professionals, technocrats, business owners, social activists, advocates, political analysts, social commentators, intellectuals, alongside other likeminds are committed to promoting Governor Sanwo – Olu’s ideology and vision of making Lagos a 21st century economy.
In a statement on Sunday, and which was signed by its Lead Convener, Olusanya, the group said it is canvassing support for Governor Sanwo – Olu based on his achievements in the last four years as Governor of Lagos.
“BOSYOPS group, is projecting the achievements of the Sanwo – Olu-led administration in a bid to push for the Governor’s re-election. It has been canvassing for increased youth participation in the upcoming electoral process”.
With a clear structure for mobilization across all local governments, senatorial, local government, ward and polling unit coordinators have been going across the state mobilizing many residents who were initially not interested in voting.
According to the Commissioner for Agriculture, objectives of the group are:
“To project Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu’s image through the grassroots with a view to building a moral followership”.
“To model Lagos, showing young achievers who are bold enough to identify with what the government is doing in Lagos and give their support and endorsement.
“To project faces of successful people who want to make a difference in the state; to project intellectuals who believe in Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu’s ideology.
“To shape the ideology of millennials on electoral process and participation and to build a strong chapter in every neighbourhood and local government”, the statement said.
