About 30 royal fathers graced the colourful and classy golden jubilee birthday of Olori of Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Olori Sekinat Omolara Kasali.
The royal fathers, most of whom wore casual wears, were joined by eminent government functionaries, lawyers, captains of industry, traditional chiefs, senior servants and others, to celebrate the royal celebrant who is a graduate of University of lbadan.
The classy monarchs and other guests had great time at the colourful and royal event which took place at the Light House Event Place, along Igbogbo Road, Igbogbo, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.
Although, it was a day of numerous speeches, an elder statesman and the former Secretary to the Lagos State, Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun and son of the celebrant, for few minutes, made special remarks about Olori Sekinat Kasali.
Basorun, who is the Asiwaju of lgbogbo Kingdom, in his welcome speech, acknowledged the presence of royal fathers and other dignitaries.
The elder statesman, who recalled celebrating his birthday at the same venue, expressed his happiness that he’s alive to welcome guests to the golden jubilee birthday of Olori Kasali.
“I congratulate Oba Kasali and his Olori, Olori Kasali on this day, and welcome everyone present here today”, Asiwaju Basorun said.
“On a day like this when our daughter is celebrating her birthday, it makes me remember years ago when I was a celebrant in this hall. I thank God that I am still alive to witness today. Today, I have been given a very important assignment which is to welcome you all. You are all welcome and please, enjoy yourself and make the celebrant happy, and also, the husband. Thank you.
“I want to specially congratulate her (the celebrant) for attaining this age and also pray for her. The diamond, platinum will come, and that she will be in good health, happiness and with lot of successes”, Asiwaju Basorun prayed.
“Yes, I want to say that I am particularly happy that we are gathered here today to celebrate one of the happiest day in your life.
“Once more, you are all welcome”, he said.
Son of the celebrant, young Prince Abdulsallam Kasali, who led the toast on behalf of the family of the His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Barr. Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, described her mother as a wonderful woman with great understanding.
“My mummy, Olori Sekinat Omolara Kasali, is a wonderful soul, trustworthy, a very understanding woman who cares for me and everyone around her”, the young Adeboruwa Prince said.
“Today is your day and I can’t thank you enough for being an awesome mom. I remember your words, “Omolayo, if you fall, I know you will stand up again”, Prince Kasali recalled her mother’s words.
“Everyone, please, join me in making a toast for my mother, the Queen”, he requested.
“Today, I wish you long life, mummy. You shall live to reap the fruits of your labour and cheers to many more years on earth. Hip hip hurray!”, he wished her mother.
Some of the royal fathers at the celebration were the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Ranodu of Imota, Obateru of Egbin, Olubshe of Ibeshe, Eweye of Isiwu, Alagura of Agura, Elejigbo of Langbasa, Olota of Ota, Olotin of Isheri, Oniru of Iruland, Olu of Agboyi, Alayandelu of Odo Ayandelu and Alaketu of Ketu.
Also in attendance were eminent dignitaries among who were Honourable Chief Judge of Lagos State, Chief Justice Kazeem Alogba, High Court Judge, Justice Lekan Ijelu, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Sesan Daini and Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Board (LSUBEB), Dr (Otunba) Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle.
