A former aspirant for the Ikorodu Federal House of Representatives, Mr AbdulAzeez Adekunle Awesu, has condoled with the Lagos Deputy Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Funke Akindele, on the demise of her mother.
Dr. R.A. Adebanjo, mother of the Nollywood actress turned politician, died on Tuesday.
Awesu, who expressed his condolences in a statement that he personally signed, said that the loss of one’s parents is a painful development because of attachment to them.
He charged Funke to look into her inner strength that has been her force over time to develop the capacity to further her campaign with the death of her mother.
“On behalf of myself, family and team, I express my heartfelt condolences and sympathy at the demise of your mother, Dr R.A. Adebanjo – Akindele”, he said.
“This is definitely going to be a difficult moment for you and family, considering our love for our parents, especially, a mother whom we are usually very attached to.
“It is more unfortunate that her death occurred in this period that you are criss – crossing the length and breadth of Lagos State, campaigning for the Governorship election as the Deputy Gubernatorial candidate of the PDP.
“It is time for you to take recourse to your innermost strength and capacity that has taken you this far, to give you the capacity to be stronger.
“I pray that God will give you and your siblings the power to bear Mama’s demise. I have no doubt that she lived well while with us and that her final journey to the great beyond will be well too. May He grant her eternal rest”.
“Once again, accept my condolences”, Awesu said.
