It’s another year again in Ebute – Iga community in Ikorodu West Local Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, to celebrate the first traditional festival, Liwe festival which always usher in other festivals in the division.
The annual festival is usually characterize by boat regatta, popularly known in the local parlance as ‘journey to Oko Igo’.
The Liwe night vigil is slated for Friday, January 27, 2023, while the Boat Regatta comes up on Saturday, January 28, starting by 9am at the Ebute-Iga Aquatic Stadium.
Prince Abiola Kosoko, the Oloja – Elect and Alashe of Ebute – Iga, a community peopled by descendants of the Oloja Kuyinnu Otuyelu, is thus, inviting the public to join in the celebration of the year long tradition.
