The Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG) has unveiled the agenda of the Group for 2023, with continuous focus on educational and human capital developments of the division.
Senator (Otunba) Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, Chairman, IDRDG, unveiling the agenda, said that the singular objective of the IDRDG is to contribute to the development of human capital of the Ikorodu Division.
He charged members of the Group not to seat on their oars, but rather clamour for the support of well-meaning individuals, notable families and corporate organisations to join hands with the IDRDG, in order to achieve its desired development for the people of Ikorodu Division.
According to a statement signed on Monday by the Honourable General Secretary, Sir. (Otunba) Wole Odulate, MNIM, KJW, Sen. Ogunlewe unveiled the group’s 2023 agenda at the first meeting held on Sunday, January 15th, 2023, at the Gbadamosi Conference Room, Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, where award of excellence were presented to the Best Schools and Best Students in Ikorodu Division in the Mathematics Competition organised by the group in November 2022.
Activities of the group for the year 2023, unveiled by the Chairman, are as follows:
“Presentation of JAMB Forms to indigent students in Senior Secondary Schools (SSS 3) in Ikorodu Division; Presentation of Scholarship/Bursary Award to indigent undergraduate students in Universities in Nigeria from Ikorodu Division and Organisation of Workshop on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education for Teachers of Senior Secondary Schools in Ikorodu Division”, the statement said.
The group, in 2023, will also “organise the 21st Prof. A. A. Adegbola Memorial Lecture and Induction of notable sons and daughters of Ikorodu Division into the Hall of Fame”.
He further stated that the group is set to carry out the fore-mentioned for the year and requested for the continued support of members to achieve the tasks of ensuring a good foundation for the education of our students.
At the meeting, IDRDG presented award to Ayangburen Senior High School, Ikorodu, as the Best School in the Division in Mathematics, while Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo, and Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede, are first and second runners-up.
The Best Student in Mathematics in the Division aas awarded to Oyebade Testimony E., of the Elepe Community High School, Elepe, while Iyibo Elizabeth from Abule-Eko Community Senior Grammar School, Ijede, is the first runneer – up and Emmanuel Caleb O., from Zumuratul-Islamiyyah Senior Grammar School, Igbogbo, emerged as the second runner – up.
The Chairman of Mathematical Association of Nigeria (MAN), Ikorodu Division Chapter, Mrs. Afusat Onibipe, on behalf of the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) Education District II, Principals, Teachers and students, appreciated the group for its commitment to the development of human resources, school infrastructures and provision of teaching instructional materials to the schools in the Division.
She added that IDRDG’s kind gesture would serve as a wake-up call to other bodies in the division, to emulate.
