The management of the Oriwu Sun Newspaper, a foremost community newspaper in Nigeria, has invited the general public to its book launch and award ceremony.
The news medium will be conferring the ‘Outstanding Politician Award of the Year’, on the Representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, at an event slated for the Aquila Event Centre, along Beach road, lkorodu on Thursday, February 2, 2023.
Oriwu sun will also be presenting a book to the public on same day.
The event will be chaired by High Chief Adewunmi Benson, SAN, the Odofin of Ikorodu Kingdom.
In a statement released today by the management of Oriwu Sun, the newspaper said that it is honouring Benson for his exceptional brilliance regarding his legislative duty which has attracted projects to Ikorodu and improved residents’ living conditions.
“Come February 2, 2023, Oriwu Sun Newspaper, the award winning and number one community tabloid in Nigeria, would honour the performing and unassuming representative of the lkorodu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson, with the Outstanding Politician Award of the year”, the statement said.
“Since inception, we have not given award to any politician, but the case of Jimi Benson, the poster boy of lkorodu politics and numero uno politician, is an exception considering his brilliant performance; both in his lawmaking duty and improving the living standards of his constituents in terms of people-oriented projects and programmes, a feat never achieved by any lkorodu politician, dead or alive”, Oriwu Sun management explained.
“It is for this reason we are rolling out the drums and spreading out the red carpet to honour Jimi Benson to encourage him to do more and inspire other politicians to emulate him.
“We, hereby, invite the general public to join us in honouring this political icon on Thursday, February 2 at the Aquila Event Centre, along Beach road, lkorodu, at 11am. We shall be expecting you all!”, the statement further said.
