The young candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat, Mr Olamide Olalekan Lawal, has charged residents of Ikorodu, especially youths to ensure that they get their Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC).
Lawal, who said that he will be making laws favourable to Ikorodu people and Lagosians at large, also canvassed the people to elect the PDP Presidential candidate come 2023 General Elections.
He made the appeals during the rally staged in Ikorodu on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, to mobilise support for the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Okowa Presidential joint ticket, convened by Mr AbdulAzeez Adekunle Awesu.
“Well, during the INEC registration exercise, I was always on ground, and always at the INEC office in Ikorodu, mobilising our youths to come out and get their PVCs. We have also been campaigning to them now that the PVCs are out, and they should all go out to collect theirs”, he said.
While speaking on his programmes if elected to represent the people of Ikorodu, Lawal said that he plans to develop bills on some laws that will be beneficial to the Ikorodu people and Lagosians at large.
“If elected as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, I have some laws in my head already that I know that I will pass when I get to that House, which will favour Ikorodu people and Lagosians at large”, he said.
He also canvased for the election of the PDP Presidential ticket come February 2023.
“As you can see around you, most of us here are young. I am a youth, so also is my counterpart, Awesu. We are here to let the people know our position that youths are on board. We are fully on ground, and we are here to support Atiku and Okowa for President. If you look around, there are about 5000 thousand people matching for Atiku/Okowa Presidency come 2023”, he said.”
“Well, it is an election, and we hope to win for Atiku. We are going to do all our possible best here in Ikorodu and Lagos at large, to ensure that Atiku/Okowa become our next President and Vice President respectively, come 2023 lnshallah”.
