The Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom and former Commissioner for Information, Commerce and Industry in Lagos State, Sir (Otunba) Ayodele Elesho, KJW, on Monday, December 26, 2022, hosted traditional rulers eminent personalities and residents in celebration of this year’s Christmas.
At the event were: His Royal Majesties, Alayeluwa (Oba) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of ikorodu, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and Oba Kazeem Gbadamosi, the Ologijo of Ogijo.
Personalities at the event anchored by Mr Oluwaseun Elesho, were Sir Ayo Ajayi, Chief Monzor Olowosago, Publisher, Oriwu Sun, Dr. Benjamin Eniayewun, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health Service Commission, Hon SOB Agunbiade, Majority Leader, Lagos Assembly, Arc. Taiwo Kara, Dr. Idowu, former Medical Director, General Hospital, Ikorodu, and Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Commissioner for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Lagos State, among others.
While welcoming the guests, Agbaakin Elesho thanked royal fathers and other guests for honouring him and his family with their presence.
He said that the annual party is his family’s way of thanking God and appreciating families and friends.
He conveyed the goodwill messages from the Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru and that of the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson.
The Ayangbure of ikorodu, in his royal speech, appreciate God for the opportunity to attend the party again alongside other Obas and chiefs.
He thanked the host for his role in bringing about love and unity within the lkorodu division.
Oba Shotobi, while praying for Agbaakin Elesho and family for many more years of celebrations, also charged residents of Ikorodu division to participate fully in the coming general elections.
He canvassed support for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, adding that it would be Ikorodu’s turn to produce the next governor of the state after the incumbent.
Also speaking, Oba Kasali commended the host for sustaining the gathering which he said is gradually becoming Ikorodu Divisional Christmas party.
Oba Gbadamosi, the Ologijo who also commended the Agbaakin, charged residents to celebrate the yuletide season with caution.
Publisher of Oriwu Sun, Chief Monzor Olowosago asked parents to emulate Agbaakin Elesho, by training their children the way he trained his son (Seun) who was effortlessly coordinating the event, while he was seated with the guests.
Also at the party were: Rt. Revd. (Dr.) Samson Osundina, Bishop of Diocese of Ikorodu Methodist Church Nigeria, and other Methodist Church Ministers.
