-Says 2022 budget achieves 80% performance
The Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Council Area (LCDAs), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba has presented a budget proposal of N1,887,150,717.81 to the Legislative Arm of the Council, for approval.
The proposal, which was presented on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, is tagged, ‘Budget of Distinctive Impact’.
In the analysis of the budget being proposed for 2023, Personnel cost is 840,809,897.05, Overhead expenditure is 581, 840, 820.76, and total capital expenditure is 464,500,000.
While the Personnel cost is 44% of the budget size, overhead is 31% while capital is 25%.
Hon. Alogba, while stating that the 2022 budget has achieved 80% performance, also stated that the proposed 2023 budget is meant for the council to consolidate on what has been achieved in the infrastructural development, education, Health among other sections of the council area.
“This is because we are determined not to relent in our efforts to consolidate on Infrastructural Development, Education, Health and Youth Empowerment, others, thereby, building a legacy that will transcend our administration”, she said.
“I want to sincerely appreciate this legislative council for the smooth working relationship that exists between us and to pray that this cordial relationship will continue so that we can work amicably together to achieve our developmental purposes.
“This year 2022 remains a remarkable year in the history of Ijede LCDA, as we are able to record significant progress in our drive to affect the lives of our people and community positively”, she added.
“Despite our meager allocation and little internal revenue base, our commitment to our people made us to be very prudent in managing our finances and we are, therefore, able to achieve these results”.
She listed some of the projects embarked upon for 2022, which she said have brought about good governance to the council.
“The renovation of the Library and the Egbin Community Town Hall, presentation of official vehicles to our political office holders, rehabilitation of the Ijede to Oke Eletu road among others, are all evidence of our resolve to bring good governance to our people.
“Today, I am happy to say that our collective efforts yielded results, and we are able to record 80% budget performance this year”, she said.
While assuring the residents of more developmental projects in 2023, Hon. Alogba also charged them to always pay their levies and taxes to the government.
In his acceptance speech, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Fadeyi Kehinde Abiodun, commended the council chairman and her executive team, for the timely presentation of the budget, and assured that the legislature will do the needful to facilitate speedy passage of the 2023 estimated budget presented because the previous budget achieved 80% performance rate.
