The Founder, Pepc Foundation and winner of the ‘Lagos Young Person of the Year’, Barr. Lukman Akinsanya, has said that he was happy making people happy and impacting positively through his humanitarian organization.
Akinsanya, last Friday, won the category of the Lagos Youth Award held at the Raddison Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
He spoke about the award on Saturday, December 24, 2022,when his foundation distributed packs of food items to over 2000 residents in Ikorodu, to mark the Christmas celebration and as part of its 2022 ‘Projects 10, 000’ which is targeted at widows, elderly, special people, widowers and others in five council areas in Lagos.
The humanitarian and community developer who has been running the Non – Governmental and Non – Profit making organization which was founded about five years ago, beat Seyi Tinubu (Loatsad PromoMedia, The Noella Foundation), Tunde Onakoya (Chess in Slums Africa), and Oluwaseun Ayodeji Osowobi (Founder, Stand To End Rape) to the 2022 Lagos Young Person of the Year award.
Pepc Foundation, which is one of the organisations that supported Lagosians with food and other items during the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown, has been providing educational materials to thousands of school children since five years ago.
Akinsanya, through his Foundation, has also been reaching out to Lagosians, especially Muslims during Ramadan period by providing meals to break their fast.
“Yeah, I won the award where we had so many personalities in that category. Obviously, the people love me and what l am doing, and I am happy to be doing this and want to do more”, Barr. Akinsanya said.
“I asked the organisers if I really deserved the award, and they gave me statistics of how they carried out the voting process. It was really a big event”, he added.
Aside the above stated engagements, the United States of America based founder of the Pepc Foundation has also been organising Christmas party for children annually, and also present gift items to them during the party. Moreso, he sponsors sporting programmes, assists sportsmen, and supports youths in achieving their dreams.
